By the way, our first post from 2004 covers a media tour that we organised for the German Aerospace Industries Association (BDLI) at the time. We took journalists from dpa, Reuters, Focus, Phoenix, Financial Times Deutschland, Welt to visit BDLI member companies in Bavaria. Among others, we visited Airbus (then EADS), Eurocopter, MTU Aero Engines. Of the approximately 70,200 employees in the German aerospace industry at that time (all figures 2003), about 26,100 worked in Bavaria. Bavarian aerospace companies contributed euro 4.8 billion (approx. 31 percent) to the industry’s total sales of euro 15.7 billion in Germany.
